Creating Goals

Set up a goal to track viewer contributions and community milestones.

Step 1: Navigate to Goals

Navigate to Goals in the sidebar.

Step 2: Create a New Goal

  1. Click Create Goal
  2. The goal wizard walks you through the setup

Step 3: Configure Your Goal

Basic Settings

SettingDescription
NameA descriptive name for your goal
DescriptionExplain what the goal is for
TypeSelect a goal type (standard, milestone, team, competitive, etc.)
Target AmountThe total needed to complete the goal, counted in the source's unit (bits, sub points, or points). Not needed for the highest-total rule, where the highest total wins
End TypeWhen the goal ends: manual, time_limit, or end_of_stream

Source

Pick what counts toward the goal. See Contribution Sources for each option. A Bits goal counts bits one for one and a Sub Points goal counts Twitch sub points, so neither needs any values set.

Freelance goals need viewers to pick an option, so the Bits, Sub Points and Bits and Subs sources aren't available for them.

Contribution Values (Bits and Subs Only)

Configure how different contribution types convert to goal points:

SettingDescription
Tier 1 Sub ValuePoints per Tier 1 subscription
Tier 2 Sub ValuePoints per Tier 2 subscription
Tier 3 Sub ValuePoints per Tier 3 subscription
Bits Per PointHow many bits equal one goal point

Milestones (For Milestone Goals)

Add milestone tiers with:

  • Threshold — The point value where this milestone unlocks
  • Label — A description of what happens at this milestone

Display Options

SettingDescription
Show PointsDisplay the point count on the overlay
Show in OverlayAdd a progress widget to your overlay

Step 4: Activate

Goals start in Draft status. When you're ready:

  1. Review your settings
  2. Set the status to Active
  3. The goal begins accepting contributions
