Play Sound
Runs on: Backend. Sends the sound to your overlay on the alert queue.
The Play Sound effect plays one sound from your asset library on your overlay. It is the quickest way to make a channel point reward play a sound effect.
Pick the sound on the node with Pick sound, press play to preview it, and set its Volume.
Quick setup
When you create a flow, choose the Sound redeem template. Pick a reward (or create a new one), pick a sound, and you're done.
Where it plays
Play Sound uses the Alert widget you already have. Any overlay with an Alert or Alert Group widget plays it, and nothing appears on screen: it is sound only. If none of your overlays has an Alert widget, the flow run fails and tells you so.
Sounds are alerts, so they queue. A sound waits for whatever alert is playing, and the next alert waits for the sound to finish. Pause Alerts holds them, and Skip ends the one playing. This keeps a burst of redeems from playing on top of each other.
Play Sound never reads anything aloud.
Every sound takes its turn in the alert queue, so give a sound reward a cooldown on the Channel Points page if viewers can spam it.
Configuration
- Sound: an audio file from your asset library.
- Volume: 0 to 100%.
Example
A channel point reward called "Airhorn". Connect a Channel Point Redeem trigger set to that reward to a Play Sound effect with your airhorn sound. Every redemption plays the airhorn once, in turn.
To play a random sound, connect the trigger to a Random Output node and give each of its outputs its own Play Sound node.
